Souri des Champs, first french winner at Market Rasen

First French raider at the Lincolnshire’s racecourse, the Robert Fougedoire’s mare, Souri des Champs, won by 6 lengths, under the Jacques Ricou’s saddle the European Breeders’ Fund/Thouroughbred Breeders’ Association Mares Only Novice’s Chase, a qualifier and class 3 race.

Chris Wilson reported in Sporting Life that Guillaume Macaire said :

“This is the first time I have been to Market Rasen so it is all very good.
“She jumped perfectly and will be better on good ground, which will help her action.
“There was nothing in France for her and this was a good race for her.
“We will now look at Newbury for the final of this series in March.”
