About thirty people work at Guillaume Macaire’s yard.
Every person has a specific job and an important part to play.
Four to five people are just in charge of the yard: they mock the horses out, give the hay, sweep the yard and walk the horses in hand if needed.
The’ morning exercise riders as well as the jockeys feed, water their horses and groom them before saddling them up.
The travel lads wash the horses before the races, drive them and are fully in charge at the races. Sometimes they even have to ride out.
The head lad, Philippe Robert keeps an eye on every horse, every person, every apprentice….every day!
Patricia, his partner is our very precious secretary. She does everything! Shye normally also rides out before she starts work in the morning, but at the moment she is expecting a baby…
