Romeo Conti, ridden by Christophe Pieux was a beginner yesterday at Auteuil over the chase. He was also a winner by 15lengths!
Mrs.Bramall’s horse Dasaint won for his first time out ridden by Jacques Ricou. In fact he won the very same race as his Sire Saint des Saints!
Long Run was not prepared to run a “flat race” yesterday. This horse who is a very good jumper with a lot of staying ability was beaten by racing circumstances: Sam Waley Cohen rode him perfectly exactly as he was told to. The pace of the race was very slow until the final sprint . Two ex flat horses did their job at that moment and overtook Long Run.
Anyway the plans were to run Long Run on the chase after yeterday’s race.
